Vintage Dutch white glazed pierced serving basket

£29.99

Vintage Dutch white glazed pierced serving basket, made in Holland and dating to the mid-20th century, circa 1950s–1960s. This elegant openwork basket features a classic reticulated body with rectangular piercings, a rope-moulded rim, and twin twisted handles, all finished in a glossy white glaze. The base bears a hand-written blue underglaze export mark reading “Holland” with factory and shape numbers, typical of Dutch post-war export ceramics. The piece is attributed to Royal Goedewaagen of Gouda based on form, construction, and marking style, a well-known Dutch pottery producing similar white wares during this period. A versatile decorative or functional piece, ideal as a bread basket, fruit bowl, or table centre, and well suited to both traditional and modern interiors. In very good vintage condition, with only light kiln and firing marks consistent with age and manufacture, and no chips or cracks.
